About Plan-it Excavating

My name is JC Pott, owner of Plan-it Excavating. Excavation isn’t something I fell into — it’s what I grew up doing. With over 15 years in the industry, heavy equipment and dirt work have always been my bread and butter.

Over the years, I’ve expanded far beyond just operating equipment. I earned both my Engineering and General Contracting licenses to better understand the full scope of construction — from planning and infrastructure to execution and coordination. That knowledge allows me to see the bigger picture on every project, not just the hole in the ground.
Before launching Plan-it Excavating, I served as a Superintendent for three years at a respected company. Walking away from a secure leadership position to start my own business was one of the biggest risks I’ve taken — but I did it because I believed I could deliver a higher standard of service, communication, and execution.
Today, that’s exactly what Plan-it Excavating stands for.
